Odd, nothing I have ever experienced before, winding that is.

I doubt that it winds, everything goes the wrong way when turning the crown counter clockwise.

I should not have said “winds” - it rotates the opposite of any other watch or movement I have seen...here:

Damn, I only see dogs....

Anyway, some movements will turn the hands forward when the crown is pulled out and turning the crown clockwise (smart), and some (most) movements will turn the hands backwards when turning the crown forward, not the smartest thing in my book.

YouTube shows what comes after and so on, but I do understand what you mean and as far as I can see it is ok. Hamilton was one of the makers that had this.
Crown forward, hands forward = natural. Crown forward, hands backwards = awkward.

Get used to it and enjoy, everything is as it should be!
