Credit to [mention]cosmic2000[/mention] for the idea. We were all noobs once and it can me over whelming to understand all the acronyms and terms we discuss on the board. This thread and post #1 will act as the main knowledge database. HF members will build it organically by posting in this thread with suggestions. Myself or one of the other Mods can update this list as we go along.

0...9
2533: A PAM reference, the one with a 3646 case and the minimalistic dot-dash dial.
3646: A PAM reference, the one with the wire lugs. There are 7 variants "A" through "G" and several modifications.
6152: A PAM reference, the one with the groove under the crown and the crease along the case
6152/1: A PAM refererence, the one with the CG. Note, that there is also a variant without CG
6154: A PAM reference, the one with the crease along the case. Often called "small Egiziano". The case is slimmer than a 6152 and there is no groove under the crown.

Athaya: Builds based on parts from a trusted dealer Athaya
Adrian: First name of Athaya
Alexa: First name of trusted dealer of bespoke straps, cases and leather gear "MSerioso"
ARF or AR Factory: Name of a well known factory for replicas

B
Beco: A German based supplier of watch parts and findings. Requires registration as business client.
BPFF: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

C
Cali: california dial (half roman, half arabic numbers)
Cartel: Parts or builds typically from 2 specific rep dealers that operate independently but rumour is they are the same
CB: Caseback
CG: Crown Guard
Cousins: A British based supplier of watch parts and findings
CP: Cannon Pinion. The part of a movement that the minute hands attach.

D
Depth gauge: A watch case based on the depth gauge cases of Panerai. NZ did a run of these cases in the past.
Destro: Crown on the left hand side of the watch.
DSN: Davidsen. Builds based on parts from a trusted dealer Davidsen.
DW: Date Wheel
DWO: Date Wheel Overlay. A dwo on the original date wheel of your movement when using a dial that is not made for the original date wheel position, f.e. when you use an eta 2824 for a rolex-build.

E
Egiziano: Nickname of the PAM reference GPF 2/56)
Esdee: Member here that made early versions of the 3646, HL and WL gen construction cases. Made the 1st versions of the MM cases.
Esslinger: An American based supplier of watch parts and findings

F
FF: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
Flume: A German based supplier of watch parts and findings. Requires registration as business client.
Franken: A watch built out of gen parts....arguably more than just the crown.

G
Getat: A parts and MM-watch dealer. Bring patience when ordering...
Gordon: First name of NW
GPF 2/56: A PAM reference, the one with CG and turnable bezel
Greenstraps: A trusted dealer for bespoke straps and leather gear. Forum name is "Jorge"

H
HL: Hornlug
Helenarou: A parts dealer
Hixxy: Founder of the original forum for when the spirit of the forum operates on.
Hulk: Nickname for Rolex 116610LV Submariner or Seiko Sumo Model SZSC004.
Hornlug: Nickname for a PAM prototype case/watch. Based on 3646, but with lugs integrated in case and sticking straight out.
HW: Hour Wheel. The part of a movement that the hour hands attach.

Incabloc: Shock protection system for movements

JF or J Factory: Name of a well known factory for replicas

MM: Marina Militare or Mille Metri (a Panerai protoype)
Mare Nostrum: [lat.] Our Sea, used to refer to the Mediterranean by Italians. Often denotes the vintage chronograph reference of Panerai.
Mod: Moderator. Modify or the keeper of order in the forum.

N
NW: Nightwatch. Builds based on parts from a trusted dealer Nightwatch.
NZ: Neckyzips. Builds based on parts from a trusted dealer Neckzips.
NF or Noob Factory: Name of a well known factory for replicas

O
Ofrei: An American based supplier of watch parts and findings

P
PAM: Panerai
Pre-V: Pre-Vendome. Watches made between the "rebirth" of Panerai in 1993 to the acquisition of the company by the Vendôme group in 1996/97 are usually called "pre-Vendôme" models.
Pre-V buckle: Basically means curved as they were in the Pre-V era.

Radium: Pre tritium lume that needs caution when handling
Raffles: Raffles sells various aftermarket rlx-watch-parts. You find him on rafflestime in the www and also in the bay as seller riyi002.
River: Builds based on parts from a trusted dealer River.
RLX: Abbreviation for "Rolex"
Ross: A trusted dealer for dials and hands. Forumname is "rmcsherry"

S
Small Egiziano: Nickname of PAM reference 6154
Silix: A rep and parts dealer. He used to have early 3646 two piece cases. Now they are discontinued.
Stripper: Liquid/mixture used to remove (dial) paint or branding.

T
Trusted Vendors: Supporters and traders who are not Trusted Dealers yet.
TD: means Trusted Dealer, a dealer that is approved by the community.

WL: Welded Lugs
Welded Lugs: A modified 3646 variant. Often abbreviated WL.

Yuki or yukiwatch: a dealer for watch parts, found on www.yukiwatch.net
