Today I received this Regent pocket watch.
I thought it would have a UNITAS 6497 moment because the last pocket I purchased on eBay had a 6498.
The 6498 was very cheap so I decided to buy the today’s pocket watch but not for any price because the seller didn’t want to open the watch, in order to avoid scratches.
To my surprise it has a Molnija movement inside with 18 jewels .
A German company with Molnija and sometimes japanese movements and on the other hand also UNITAS.
Anyway the movement runs very strong and accurate.
An homage build with Molnija … why not.
I think I have to change the ratchet wheel first.

I think we’ve all experienced this type of disappointment in buying pocket watches on eBay…dj57 wrote: ↑January 17th, 2024, 2:25 pm Today I received this Regent pocket watch.

At least you have a movement you can use.
For this particular watch, “18 jewels” and “MEC MOVT” printed on the dial were serious clues.
I wish you better luck for the next one, I’m sure you’re an hungry hunter

I paid 22€ plus shipping
Even Molnija movements are more expensive.

That’s a great pickup for 22! I’ve been through the mystery movement purchases a bunch of times. I have four of five absolutely beautiful, shock protected and healthy running movements that are 41mm or larger. Just waiting for someone to manufacture a case they will fit in
I keep adding airplane parts to my motorbike but it still doesn’t fly
