Great job! So it's 3D printed, do you know by what method? SLS (selective laser sintering) or something else?
I knowcthose methods are expensive since price is usually calculated by chamber volume, so can you give us estimate on price per piece? I see itvis critical to get proper dimensions since case back is of snap in type?
It really gives a different dimension and new opportunities for case making, especially for vintage watches with broken or missing cases and parts (have a few )...

Some folks are using micro pcs like raspberries (cheap) to do these things

I'm tempted to that myself

For a test server, which I will only use when my PC is on, virtual machines are perfect, they cost nothing at all, which is infinitely cheaper than a Pi, and take orders of magnitude less effort to set up.

That’s what I did, 3D plastic print by Emilio and then made a few adjustments and send it to final printing .

Just need to follow the technical requirements for the material you’ve selected. Just upload the STL file and then go to the 3D tools option. That will check the model and the technical requirements allowing you to made some adjustments to the model.

In this case, the movement is real small, so to be compliant with the print requirements, I had to let the case with more steel then what Was needed. Just need to remove the excess.

So far didn’t find holes or gaps in the case and already removed a lot of steel.


This time they ship it from EU, it was the first time I got a parcel from Shapeways sent outside USA. Maybe they increased their business and now have partnerships in EU, really don’t.

I’ll send another case to print in Feb. I’ll post the result here.

My aim is to finish at least one movement/watch a day, so there is light ahead for the stuff you guys have put trust in me to do.
A ship's clock, an ETA 2824, cleaning and assembling a 6152, moving parts from one SF240 to another to achieve a high CP/HW for a thick dial. That is what I have done in the last three days.
