I don't think that I have spent more than an hour on this, perhaps also an hour thinking of what to do.

Yes, it has a huge sentimental value for the owner and it has never been worn.
Accessing the movement is impossible, unless you cut it open and glue it back together.

I did it all from the outside and it worked.

So, it's possible to replace the crystal? I would need to do that on my Swatch chrono
Of course!

It was a question of thinking about the possibilities and thinking outside the box and it worked, but thanks!

My contact at Swatch Group said it was not possible, so what it is it that is not possible?

It's amazing, at least to me, that this watch has 22 jewels.

Of course!
Any recommendations? should I buy any specific crystal? send it to Swatch (might be not serviceable)?

The problem is that the original crystal is fused into the case by using pressure/heat and pieces of the plexi are still hanging tight in it.

Read somewhere they are lazered so unserviceable, but if you return it Swatch give a discount off the next purchase. But that may just be for dead movements, broken crystals might not qualify, but you can always ask.
What are you drinking, velocet or drencrom.

I think that the rest of the plexi can be removed and a new glued in. Not that I have done it before, but there is a first time for everything.
