I say go for it. Look at it this way...
You aren't wasting any money. Special G Shocks not only hold value but often increase. Plus if you have your heart set on a special back you would probably never be happy with the stamped back of a regular 5600. So in effect you are saving money by buying a more expensive model to start with.

Perhaps its from the strap since most Casios and citizens ,the old ones at least, were not using real rubber but PDU or silicon based.
If you put an NBR or real caouchoc strap ,no problem!
This is for all watches not just Casio.
Also that goes with all watches with large caseback, dont wear them to tight ,the hand sweat with the metal causes friction on the skin from contact, sometimes!
I only had a few problems with bracelets and only during summer and only with SS bracelets not titanium.

I suggest 2 mods: oil filling (messy but professional) and polarized film (fun). Well, and maybe buying a new case cover/strap.

What do you think of the metal bezels and straps? Any good value titanium versions?

I posted a cheap replacement for the metal bracelet/bezel but I don't think they are "top" quality. Just meh
I am totally in the dark in regards to titanium options, sorry
But apparently these guys have even Carbotech bezels
