You are on track, splendid solution, drilling a hole and a pin! How hard can it be, a pin and a hole (the fat lady said, she talks a lot and I wish that she would use that mouth of hers for something else)

...little note to self... do not leave the jar with sulfur solution open over night - the whole house will smell of farts and you won’t be able to blame the dogs

Oh my, hahaha!
Tell the Mrs. that the dogs had all their friends over for a late night supper and that they all farted a lot.

They must have had pork and beans drowned in a gallon of yoghurt to produce that smell... I am so lucky the Mrs. is very understanding (and that she left a batch of fish glue to rot in my basement shop not so long ago

)
tafari thank you! There is still a lot of work to do in fit and finish... I guess I‘ll have it done by monday or so.

OK... less stink and more progress but as much as I‘ll get done today as the first dials for my 6152 build arrived and I want to spend a little time cuddling them as well
The second part of the strap is cut, glued and shaped to final dimension:
Leaving me with reshaping the buckle, softening some corners, dyeing, riveting and finishing... I‘m beginning to like it more and more - let’s see how it turns out in the end.

Had some shop-time today so it’s almost done...
I‘d call it a succailure
One one hand it turned out pretty much as I wanted it to. There’d be some finishing to do but it works pretty well. The buckle snaps into place and the whole thing sits snugly on my wrist. I‘m pretty positive that upon wearing it a bit it will lose a bit of it‘s stiffness as well. It‘s definitely more of a bracelet than a strap.
On the other I feel it‘s a bit too „baroque“ for my taste and would propably not get much wrist time. The comfort-level also isn’t too extreme. It won’t hurt you but will always remind you of it‘s existence - especially when you accidentally brush up against any unsuspecting object.
Am I happy with it? Definitely! It was nice to wrap my head around the difficulties this build posed and I gained some skills (mostly patience

) along the way.
Will I make another, maybe better one? Nah... propably not. I‘ll rather dig through my leather scrap bin and sew up some „standard“ straps.
Thank you for reading!
Bests, Chris.

The buckle is genius and can easily be used for a leather strap, well done!
