There is nothing like a piece with history and personal heritage.
It must have been very satisfying to see her running again.
I have been thinking about the issue for a while, but it is a mental thing and yesterday I decided to have a go at it.
I have had this in pieces before, so there are no secrets in there now.
I am happy that I have solved the problem, but at the same time sad that my grandfather, grandmother and my aunt are not here to hear it running and chiming.
Memories from the past.

Well still you get to hear what they heard and now the ones after you will have the chance to do so as well... family heirloom well preserved! I think it is this context that makes it so special. Heck, I think I‘d attach a short little note inside that tells the story.

I have the papers from the testament, a written document from me and a CD to let my daughter know what it is all about in my little shop.

Excellent story and history on the clock. It is great you, personally, where the one to get it working again. A 200 plus year old family heirloom is special.

I adjusted the pendulum, but as I am particular I can't stand the fact that the brocot adjustment feature is all the way to minus and because of that I will replace the pendulum spring next. The key hole at twelve o'clock was meant to use and I want it to work.

New pendulum spring fixed, a bit longer and softer.
A few minutes work on Saturday.

Fitted and working well, a few adjustments and it will be back on the side board in the living room.

I like how this photo and how it is taken creatively!

Ah well, I miscalculated everything, the two mm longer pendulum spring made the clock run almost ten minutes slow a day...
So I went back to the old pendulum spring and removed the brass fittings, grinded away 0,10 mm on both sides and positioned the Brocot adjustment to the middle, 86 clicks in all divided by 2 (I am particular) and riveted the brass fittings back on, now I have a result and the adjustment possibilities +/- I was looking for.
