Thanks straps68 i made that setting tool ages ago ive since made a few for local watch makers and improved on this one in my opinion this one is too big it takes up allot of real-estate on a bench
It does look like nothing I've seen before and I had a hunch that it was hand made. Really well done!

Awesome work! That is a serious hand setting machine! I'm always curious ... when do you know how much pressure to use when setting hands, and is there a risk of cracking a jewel if using too much pressure?

If you look closely you can see a locking ring (silver knurled ring) this allows me to adjust the limit at which the plunger pushes down on the hand.
It's very precise, also the movement holder has a small pinion support pushing on the opposite side of the center wheel pinion so there is 0 stress on the jewel.
The only drawback is you need to make a specific holder for every movement type.
