After sanding dial down from 1.5mm to 0.9mm with various grits of sandpaper (400-3000) you mount it in a drill with dual sided adhesive and use various "grit" cloths and plexi polishing compound (make sure the dial is perfectly centered). Go slow so you don`t overheat the dial. :) Do that until you have achieved desired effect. I use polishing cloths and old t-shirts varying in fabric coarseness.

Ah, so you are polishing along the diameter and not back and forth across the dial center while slowly turning the dial?
