Some nice movements I’m currently working on

They will be fully serviced and with thermally blued screws

I am so in love with this thing. It’s an obsession at this point! Even more than the beauty… hearing it run! Omg

that authoritative click clack is mesmerizing.
Now I know I can’t afford the cost of a good one and then finding a clock smith who can work on it and source parts…
So I’m starting to look at Chelsea Navy clocks. The movements aren’t as beautiful. Does anyone have experience with Chelsea or Seth Thomas navy clocks who can tell me if the clock clack is as loud and authoritative? I do NOT want a quiet clock!

I’m with you on the sound Merlin! I don’t have much experience with clocks outside of tinkering with Angelus SF240’s, but I really love being able to hear the movement working. I’ve got a few builds that my wife forbids me from having on the nightstand because they tick too loud and keep her awake. Domed crystals act as amplifiers for the sound, having extra room in the case seems to boost the sound a bit too.
I don’t know, there is something cinematic about a watch or clock that you can hear ticking when you look at it.
