toofsy Great - I especially like the homage forum circle at 03:00!
+1

Great design. With a modern touch

We would need a way to attach that bezel to an existing watch. Ideas are welcome!

Kind of... I have a Black Bay no cg case in the mail, that I‘d like to take measurements of to do sth. similar to.
It will take some reshaping and some details can’t be replicated but it should come close.

There still is the monopusher movement issue

Believing or not during last weekend, I was making drawings like this dial for Nh35a movement, for a watch with my logo on.

But as this dial going for the HF project, I am backing off.

Yes, it is exciting! Yet still a lot of hoops waiting to be jumped!

As far as it goes now, Emilio provided some very nice drawings to my idea of a piggyback bezel.
Upon having the printed prototype in hands, I‘ll machine both parts to fit and get them to permanently attach to each other. Safest way to me yet would be soldering, maybe brazing with tig. I asked Emilio to design the „piggy-bezel“ to have pilot holes for drilling to size, so I can fit bronze nubbins and the top, lumed dot.

Crystal is, as mentioned the crystaltimes ct101, toofsy posted some nice hands and case...

This won’t be complete without a dial! What should that look like?

Should this be a set for people to mod themselves or a completed watch?

Before there are thoughts of sales involved, I‘d like to have a chat with the mods as well - I have no saying in how this is treated here and while working as an event manager for more than twenty years, I‘m no salesperson... I‘m sure there‘d be someone more qualified for the task on here.
As mentioned earlier, this is a proof of concept and scalability will have to be checked upon.

Other than that - let’s build that prototype
Phaedros what about tapping the bezel sleeve to accept screws to hold it in place. In the same way a Mille metri is done:

jrlmsla this would be the way to go on the Zerographe, the original has screws as well.

I think ordinary soft solder will do the trick just fine on the Skegi. It will mostly be friction fit... I just don’t like the idea of using epoxy. The sintered steel/ bronze takes over 1000°C before it disintegrates.

Elias Livadaris why would you want to back off? These are completely different projects - I‘d find it sad to know this stopped you from doing something...

Shapeways just mailed me - they already started printing

My dear friend. It was just a crazy idea. It is a long time now "I have hanging up my shoes" as they say. And above all. It is the HF spirit!!! When a group project starts, all we contribute to this

I see... having crazy ideas is a condition that plagues me as well. Seems the whole HF is based on them
Thank you very much - this is such a great place!

This is not really a "regular forum" project, we are all chiming in, that means your dial design is as valid ImageImage

We are not "selling" a watch with sign up list like the rest do. Maybe people just want the bezel and not a complete watch, etc
