I think I’m going to take it apart, remove the black faux leather tape, and add a front panel that slides out from the bottom. The two metal hardware pieces you can see below are where I assume some sort of front panel snapped into place before.
beautiful movements , well done M.Yoda wrote:Serviced a Landeron calibre 48, repaired a Ulysse Nardin with a Valjoux calibre 23, new staff, hole- and cap jewels.

Today is a tool day. (Quiet Sunday) Making a few little tools I should have made a long time ago.
First up.....custom emery sticks... no more popsicle sticks.....
Next a couple custom reamers to be made for my Seitz jeweling tool.
Polishing or burnishing purposes?binbin wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 2:55 pm Nothing too difficult or crazy, but well worth the time.

Just for polishing and shaping. One 400, 800, 1200 and 2400. I usually just glue some paper to little wooden stir sticks or popsicle sticks. (True ghetto watchmaker) I like the harder (and flat) surface of the brass. I made one a few weeks ago and it grew on me fast. I've been switching out grades of paper on the one piece and decided I'd make a set.Yoda wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 3:27 pmPolishing or burnishing purposes?binbin wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 2:55 pm Nothing too difficult or crazy, but well worth the time.
