I figured that since the base was shiny already I just had to apply a layer of metallic copper spray paint

Advantage: light reflects as it is made of metal

Disadvantage: might look artificial but since it's so small you don't notice it.

Advantage: as it a bit uneven, it looks like it's aged already.
