I have always been fascinated by the patterns they made those days, absolutely mesmerizing!

I once inherited Swiss and American pocket watches from my grandfather and when I saw a Hamilton everything changed.

He collected what he found interesting then, no name Swiss, South Bend, Waltham, Longines, Elgin, Hamilton, Aurora, Illinois, Ball, Hampden, E. Howard and so on.

I crimped the collection, got rid of the no name Swiss and the ones made in large quantities, so Elgin and Waltham was among the first ones I let go. Not that Waltham and Elgin didn't make high grade movements, but they simply made too many of them for my taste.

I ended up with Hamilton as they made high grade movements of every grade they produced, in low numbers.

These days I only keep watches and movements with a significant importance and those under a 1000 made, nothing else.

I have so far kept/collected Hamilton 10 size 917, 921, 923 and 945, 18 size 924, 926, 927, 936 and of course the great 940, the 18 size 923 (incredible unusual), a number of the old 16 size 992 and the later 16 size 992B, most likely more I have forgotten about as I rarely look in that cabinet these days.
