Alga thank you very much!

Yoda I do have some quick elves - thank you for helping me out here!

Emilio I already made minor changes to the proto design. The most obvious is changeing the thickness of the tang from 1mm to 1,5mm. I might as well alter the shape of the tip slightly. Your input is invaluable!

odokadolo highly appreciated, thank you!

redmill thanks a lot!

earloflondon great! There’ll be a major update to this as soon as I have worked out the changes based on the feedback I received and am about to receive.

Elias Livadaris doesn‘t it always go like this? I finished your buckle first and it was the one I wanted to arrive first too... I am so grateful for you taking your time and expertise on evaluating my work!

I am absolutely up for one or more of these when they go live.

It's been a PITA not being able to get knife edge buckles for so long. And these look really good.

Kudos to @Phaedros for fine work here.

Well impressed I am :-)

Guessing you are a guitarist?

'Buckle rash' being a phrase guitarists use to describe the damage done to the back of a guitar by belt buckles...

Very nice knife edge buckle for a prototipo! Now I know who to go to if I need a smaller Knife edge buckle.

Thank you so much for being part of this - I greatly value your opinion!

Nottingham Thanks - I am really happy you like the shape!

Nick_B Great! I‘m just about to launch the introductory run at reduced pricing. I‘ll put up the info a bit later.
I wouldn’t consider myself a guitarist, more of an overenthousiastic nutcase... but yes - the name comes from the damage a belt buckle does to the backside of a guitar

VanSong Thank you very much! The smaller buckles are fantasy built but I really like the aesthetics, especially with more rugged straps.

A sneak peek into the introductory run:

Talisker and Bigsbies and P90s... a potent combination ;-)

Just a thought but not everybody might consider 'rash' to be a positive branding. 'Buckle Rush' on the other hand...

Normally there's a six-figure consultancy fee for this kind of stuff :-0 but waived since you are both a fellow musician and a craftsman
I‘ll put up the info a bit later.
I've got this thread bookmarked...

Yep, I butchered my old JV pretty badly - she really sings though!
About the „rash“ - it also refers to the aging or „relicing“ to stay in the guitar lingo...

My seven month old had the idea to firmly occupy her dad for the last few days, hence the little delay.

Anyway - here goes:

I can proudly announce the start of the „introductory run“!

This will be ten I‘ll finish under business conditions, where I‘ll also exactly measure the time it takes me to make the individual buckle. From there I can finally calculate the „real world“ pricing for the ones that might come after that.

Here are the conditions:

A buckle, 24, 26 or 27mm will go for 40$ plus shipping - this price will only last for the first run and is likey to be the lowest it will be. From my calculations off of the protos it is going to almost double that but we‘ll see how fast I can get.

Finish options are:
- brass
- nickel plated
- nickel plated lightly aged (basically just blackened and repolished to give an „old silver“ look)
- nickel plated and aged (blackened and the sharp corners taken off to reveal some of the brass)
- „road kill“ (hit by a truck, mangled and chewed - like the originals in the archive. Nickel worn through, scratches and pitting)

Aging is included in the price of the first run but will be extra in the future.

Payment is due as soon as the buckle is packed up and ready to go. I do take everyone’s word on here that once they order, they’ll take the buckle.
It will take me two weeks to finish this batch, should I not be able to make it in this time frame you are free to retreat from this.

Is there a catch? Of course there is! I am really blown away that already seven buckles are spoken for... three are firmly sold and four are reserved. I‘ll hold on to one for Nick_B as well - this makes only two more that are freely available right now - this might go fast!

Thank you all for this!

Update: six sold, two reserved, two available

Update 2: eight sold, one reserved, one available

And the third update: 9 sold, one reserved.

I‘ll start production now. The 1,5mm stock arrived too. I set myself the 19th of may as shipping date.
I‘ll contact every buyer with the payment details as soon as the buckles are done.

Thank you all for your continuous support and the kind words - what a great place to be!
