My 2 cents are also crown related. Without the gap there was no space for the crown.

Thanks Emilio for your kind reply! Definitely not questioning your drawing, LOL

. As this is very much engineering stuffs and It's totally out of my knowledge area, so am trying to find out why it is constructed in such a way and learn something new from it! bmsm thanks and noted!

Update
You can appreciate how the stock NW CG has that gap in this pictures.
I have realized that the screw head needs space too so that's maybe another reason.

Another one, a trotting reel from J W Young & Sons, the Purist. The centre pin was a few degrees off and now it is straight.

I might use your drawings to make a 3D model, just to play around. If you need help with that, let me know. I would recommend Fusion 360.

Another watch un-related project down to the last bits of finishing.
My dad asked me to repair his kitchen knife for him so I did. I used my favorite wood, Padouk, a walnut spacer and bronze pins. It’s great doing things you don’t have to think about every once in a while... this is how far I got in thirty minutes yesterday:
Only minor finishing left to do

Wahaha, yes you can if it get realised! But I wish it is that easy and straightforward! The small 8 days keywind movement is rare as hen's teeth and this case is drawn base on it size!

Awesome!
VanSong I love the idea of the sw movement! Do you think there’s any chance for water resistance?
