Yep, three coats of boiled linseed oil and a coat of antique wax for gloss... small parts will slide off like a stick of butter from the hood of a black car in the sun
What are you working on now?

You don’t happen to know the exact diameter of the little brass nubbin closing up the alarm setting hole, do you? I‘m asking for a friend...

Re: What are you working on now?
I measured a couple of train bridges, they seem to vary a wee and I assume that it may be the plating. The safest reading is 1,895 mm, but I would experiment and go for 1,9 mm and see what happens. Thinning ever so little in steps and you are there. I would turn a brass pin to 1,9 mm and use wet paper for the last hundreds of a mm. Patience.Phaedros wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 1:16 pmOf course! I use those, one with 0.35 and another 0.70 center hole. 1.50mm thick and 2.00mm diameter.
If someone needs I can share. Do not need all

Here we go... a prototype

I made it taper by 3° for an easy fit

Or three, to be exact... let’s see if I measured right.
