I did redo the dial at least 10 times before I had no blue smudges from wax. I also tried paint (watercolor) but same result. So yeah I’m happy with the result but not how long it took. I don’t think I’ve ever repainted and rewarded a black dial before.

Ah, well. Just take it as a lesson in personal growth and wear the watch with pride:-)
