At the Russian watch forum there was an interesting project "Argentum Solis" - a limited edition of 200 watches of silver.
The owner of 3 such watches approached me with a request to think over the design of the straps and buckles for them.
Required:
1. To invent a female buckle.
2. To invent a men's buckle.
3. To figure out how to make the fasteners of belts so that the client can change the straps himself.
Below is shown how the tasks were solved)

Sometimes the watch buckles are obtained quite by accident)
Today I will talk about one of these.
In September 2017, a forum member asked me to implement the idea of a belt buckle with such a character. Our answer to Robocop or Auroric, as I later called it)
The buckle was intended as a memorial notch about the recent meeting of Paneristi in St. Petersburg, during which considerable attention was paid to the museum of the cruiser Aurora.
The buckle was modeled on the basis of an army belt.

After calculating the weight, we realized that it would cost a little at the exit. And they decided to abandon the belt format, transforming it into a watch. The central figure was not discussed, but the texture of the base was either smooth or corrupted.
The result came out like this)
There were doubts, will it be possible to transfer the detail in such a small format? But it turned out!
Although it should be noted that pryaha is available in 2 quality options - very clear (when even the inscription "Aurora" is read on the sunless cap) and more "blurry" - for those who want a sort of vintage worn for years.
At the weekend, here's another cast, in bronze)

I will continue the maritime theme.
"Saboteurs on the torpedo" (diagonally).
Buckle in size 24 mm.
Reserved sizes.
Perfectly suited to the "sea" watches, to the ammo too.
To buckle you can advise decorative inserts "saboteurs" and loop with a similar insert.

Yesterday there were "saboteurs obliquely", today "saboteurs in the circle")
The saboteurs themselves and the torpedo have changed little, but the base of the buckle of a different shape - the “plate”.
Waves, bolts, needle on the spike, all from the buckle "In Pam we trust".
The sizes are noticeable, but due to the perfect anatomical bend it is very comfortable to wear.
The decorative insert "Diverters" is very well suited to the buckle.
You can pick up the keeper;)

"Skull with a rose".
Approaches both to Panerai with their history about the 10th Flotilla, and just fans of "knuckles".
More restrained in size compared to "Diverters in the circle."
Anatomical bend.
24 mm.
Ideal with decorative inserts "Skull" of any size.
To buckle we can pick up a metal loop. As with the skull, and with any other insertion of the marine theme: a sea mine, saboteurs, an anchor, a diver's helmet ...

Thanks)
Yes, of course, I can make a buckle for your design (and strap too )! The procedure is as follows:
1. you express your wishes, give explanations and illustrations (similar photos)
2. I call the cost of modeling and casting the buckle.
3. I start modeling and show you 1-2 times the progress of work.
4. cast buckle.
modeling and release of the buckle takes 1-1,5 months.
