i have fabricated parts for him in past and he was ultra correct with me. he payed all the bills, some time in advance and he never complained abiut dates, prolongings or subjective QC when it comes to vintage patina. on the other hand he used to make all the leather work for my builds before Alexa MS came in to the game. i was overpaying him for leather and i was convinced that someone like me is doing work for him. i did also several high end builds for him and i know for sure that he sold them as MM. I didnt care as they ware all already vinarge Panerai watches; who cares! i know he did a lot of BS on old forum and bunch of guys got pissed but i cant say a bad word for a kid as he didnt do any wrong to me and he could if he wanted. i never heard form him again.
just my 2c

The first time I enquired about one of his watches, an esdee brass 3646, he offered to sell it to me for $6k :wtf: . I can't remember what movement it had but even a 618 couldn't have justified the price, that was the going rate for brand new Panerais at that time.

Yes, he did, crazy price point. Made in China is expensive.
I remember thinking that at a $1000 or whatever he wanted for it, it must have been made by Chinese sweatshop CEOs

I can confirm on multiple occasions he PM'd me and asked if he could dump a bunch of labour on me. He wanted me to do his builds for him. We never talked about fees, but I told him I wasn't interested. My guess is he probably asked a boatload of people.

His photographs were lovely... his builds were not to my taste... too vintaged.

He was building a watch every week or two... thought he must be even crazier than me (during my 70+ watch build period).

I assumed from early on that most or all of the work was farmed out, due to the lack of consistency and lack of obvious skill advancement, and seemingly infinite available time for both churning out builds and heavily promoting the work. It's also small community, and after you've seen and handled a lot of parts or builds from a particular source, you could identify them based on the bevel of certain edges, the grain of certain brushed finishes, and the clarity of particular polished surfaces.

To be clear, this was an absolutely empty threat. He never had the level of "pull" that would allow kicking someone off the forum for disagreeing...in fact, no one did, because that would violate the very tenets that served as the foundation of the community.

Due to his heavy self-promotion and combination of lack of knowledge while trying to present himself as a subject matter expert, he was always (rightly) treated with high levels of suspicion.
