Truth is, I have no idea. It hasn't that extra piece fitted by the escape wheel bridge. I don't remember seeing a Rolex pocket watch with markings on the crown, not any other for that matter.

No, this one is a 15j movement, the other is a 17j movement. But it has the small extra piece attached by the escape wheel bridge, which the other one hasn't..
Yes,and the bridge config. is different.The one on ebay looks like cort.620 with more jewels.Interesting indeed...

What is bothering me, is that Cortebert 620 was a 15j movement and the one Sevanata posted about is 15j. The one in the auction is a 17j movement, hm..
I can easily imagine that Rolex had different levels of movements at that period of time. That could be an explanation. Still, it is not a 616 or 618 as far as I can tell on a lazy Sunday.

You are right,thickness is definitely like 620,so thinner than 616 on which 618 is based.I agree that the jewel thing is the most puzzling.Maybe the upgraded 620 version.

Would love to see a few additional pics of the movement and the dial,bro.Congrats,it's a beautiful movement.I've read about those brass movements,the consensus on HF was,at the time,that it is a Cortebert 618,despite the fact that some of those movements had Rolex engraved bridges.These were supposedly custom engraved later on.Nevertheless,I love those brass bridges,even more than the "regular" cdg.

The bridges are indeed brass, most old movements were made of brass, but these "brass" movements were gold flushed. It's gold and mercury in a mix, when heated the mercury will vaporize an the gold will stay on the brass.
Those guys, who worked with this, didn't get old.

Oh,maybe that is why the brass isn't as tarnished as it would be if it was bare brass?
