The secret is a very careful sanding with the right grit (1000-1500) to remove the top coating, then either exposure to boiled egg or steel burnishing chemical, then sandpaper again in finer grit to restore some polishing and adjust the patina. Piece of cake

In the past, I tried using used car oil. That worked as well. I have tried the egg, but it did not come out as nice as yours.
