Yes, that's the way it came from the factory back in the day. The crown is probably a replacement but everything else is original. These have a movement that was made for Ball by A. Schild (A.S. 1604) that is 21 jewels adjusted to 5 positions, manual wind, and hacking. They're great little watches, these movements are far better quality than the general run of the mill A. Schild movement. I've actually got two of these at the moment. I had a third one in stainless steel and sold it recently. Ball was still an American company when this was made, there just weren't any American manufacturers left for them to buy from so they went to the Swiss. There is also an automatic version with an ETA movement. They were railroad approved at the time.
