Shipping confirmed, a box with SW SF240 parts from a country in Scandinavia! I already had a box with KW parts, but that will not take me far as long as I am not repairing travel clocks. Good to have though..
The scenario is as follows: a complete set of parts, screws, bridges, train wheels and balance, barrel, main spring, springs, pinions, setting parts, stemβ¦beep..
Plan is: Esdee WL case finished by Elias especially for me, thanks Elias and Esdee!, Gunny strap with a buckle from Elias, probably an early Southy dial, gen Angelus hands. Did I forget something?
Assembling NOS parts for the first time in around 70 years, I will wake them up and create a completely new watch less used than what Arnold and Sly are wearing, and for a few bucks less than what these guys paid, but so much more special. Have a cigar!
Congrats! a well deserved project

0.22 or air gun?

The wood is not excellent but at least we are busy right now.

Ah, 4,5mm. You should try mahogany or walnut, especially walnut. I had a German furniture maker make a set of walnut grips for my P210 instead of the bakelite grips, incredible difference.
My initial idea was making a buttstock too but hey! running short of materials and this is easier.

Finally fitted 5 inch monster chuck on 7x12 mini lathe...
Lot of patience and tolerancing work on adapter plate but it is worth of, really... I'm impressed how easy now I can make chips

This chuck also acts as flywheel due to it's mass...
Of course for tiny work and polishing, I can easily switch to 3 inch chuck...
On second picture you can see 3 inch chuck on top of headstock..

What is the difference in weight between the chucks, will the big chuck put too much pressure on the bearings?
No, I've already fitter tappered roller bearings, so they can withstand much more load... Differentce in weight at least 2x maybe 3x...

I am not surprised, I more or less expected it and just wanted to ask. Good choice!
Thanks!
