I think it’s been something like 15/16 years since I had joined HF.


Where I had trained, an older more mature workmate had showed me an homage Panerai watch he got online and I ended up finding Getat watches and later Jackson Tse.

Well, as some recall, Getat was notorious for just dragging his feet and you’d really have to email a bunch of times to get a move on that guy .

I ended up finding this forum and I think my first mod was putting in a new skeletonized 6497-asian movement into that Getat watch and aging the hands.

The first “big” project from start to finish was the famed Silix 3646 styled case with those little spring bars tucked in inside.

The rest was history.

Joined the original forum around 2014 after going through the pretty standard rabbit hole: discovered Panerai homages, bought a Getat, discovered the vintage pam building hobby and joined HF...One or two builds, many watches, movements and parts bought and sold (many that I really miss and regret selling)...almost nothing left (Yes, some Holio Cornholio's precious lume !!). I really need to find a good 6152/1 made by Kpoy, Belkin12 or any of the legends with a nice Manifatture Serioso strap to wear and keep as a memory of those years ! The forum is a bit slow at the moment but I still enjoy visiting on a regular basis to see what's what and hear some news!

I found Homage-Forum via the "Chief Bottle Washer" Mellons as I met him on another rep watch forum, and he directed me to the Homage-Forum.

Mellons has been of great help with my watch collection especially for vintage PAM's and Mille Metri Panerai.

I can’t exactly, i was looking at vintage panerai’s and stumbled onto the website. I haven’t been right ever since!

I had no idea what a vintage Panerai was, but one day I was googling for pics of Frankie Howard and.... Boom.
