Buongiorno guys
I can immagine that most of you knows Cuoierie Meccaniche Brelli, they were the company who made straps for Panerai from the beginning.
The core business for Brelli was leather boots made waterproof with a particular mixture of vegetal oils and grease.
The story tells that once Panerai tried this boots than wanted the same leather for his watch straps.
The company still exists in Florence and they still works on leather...
Now the artisan it’s a niece of Brelli,I have contacted him and he tell me that they can still make straps as his grandfather did, with oils and grease and all...
Anyone have already ordered a vintage strap from them? Any experience?
I’m really tempted to get one of this...

The name is new to me, not surprised, but this sounds like some really good stuff. I can almost smell it, fine soft leather, oiled and greased.

I haven’t asked this thing...

Yes, because as soon as they started producing them for the navy they were not sewed by hand.

You will need to crawl before you can walk, that's how it is.
