I was just thinking... This is an amazing forum with people of various mad abilities and super building powress... Dial makers... Case makers... Movement repairers, builders... Hoarders...parts fabricators... scholars...historians... story tellers...

From time and again i see older members being mentioned and some of them legends...

But... The available projects here are the same old few... Panerai homages... A few pilot projects... With parts becoming harder to come by and becoming more and more expensive... Especially those from makers past... There are it seems however no new projects these days to be had...

Im wondering if we can get organised once again and start building and making again... For example there are a number of watches i would like to see built such as the Eterna matic kontiki IDF...

Would it be possible for us to comission one of our builder/maker member to make a run of cases... Dials... Hands etc... for something like that?

that would be very nice to have a hf project, something new. I think everyone here has some watches he would like to make a homage build with. for me is the R...x deep sea special and the LONGINES HS (Hydrographic Survey) 1942. also the eterna... I like it.
the question is if there would be enough members to join for one project, I mean the same projet. so it would be valuable for the producer

Anyone has experience with these things... How many pieces of any part needs to be committed before its viable?

I dont think i would wear the r*lex deep sea special but will surely participate in such a historical moment if it could be done... I would like it to technically be able to go down as deep as the original....

Same for the longines... Ill participate...

For the eterna matic kontiki super idf... There are quite a number of dial and bezel and caseback variations... Ill probably hoard a good number if it gets made...

And ouyang case... Ill be in for more than just 1...

it depends on how much we are ready to pay for a case set, also the quality. more sets to be produce will bring the price down.

Something like the Eterna or Longines will be great!!
Maybe a brand not “mainstream” like R***x..
