Hello, do you think I can use an escape wheel from an Asian 6497 to fix a Swiss 6497?

I would say no, different pivots, most likely differences in the geared portion and perhaps length.

Agree with M. I recently changed an escape wheel and that solution didn’t work. End up buying a new one. And when buying try to get a brand new one, the pivots are really small and thin, and easy to broke when striping of a movement and the cost isn’t much different from a recycled one.

I bought mine from this eBay shop https://www.ebay.com/usr/mt-swissmade and cost CHF25 with shipping. Was brand new.

Also, remove the balance and pallet arbor assembly before installing the new escape wheel to avoid any unintended damage. Check the pallets, just to make sure that they were not harmed when the escape wheel pivot broke.

I forgot to precise that before to disassemble the mouvement the second hand was running well but the minute hand didn't run. There is maybe another issue that only the escape wheel?

I would say that the cannon pinion has too little friction. Is it very easy to set the time?

It important to remove the stem while in the correct position. Which is the time setting position in a 6497.

Also, don’t unscrew the stem release screw too much.

This is what to do:
Pull crown out to time setting position.

Unscrew stem release screw 1/4 turn. Try pulling stem out (will come out easy) Repeat until stem releases.
I thought it was pulled in winding position.
