Hello to all

Living in Germany or Italy it is nearly impossible to receive a homage watch for we have very strict custom regulations. The TD's offer triangle-shipping, that works most times.
But what if I want to buy one of those fantastic builts that are sold by members in the HF??? Those are often pure artwork, far far away from replicas. But custom regulation don't allow them either (I think).
My dear german HF's - how do you get the builts you bought out of EU shipped to your home?
Do you use something like Borderlinx.com or similar? Is buying a private and non commercial built without custom problem?
You can answer me via pm if you want.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers cosmic

Can't speak to issues over there, but I did ship a watch to someone in Germany and he had me remove the dial and ship it in a letter or birthday card. The rest of the parts entered the country no problem and he popped the dial back in.

I'm sure with the community of members from around the world here, we could create our own triangle shipping. I know many members in the UK that would receive and forward packages as a favour. I've never had an issue shipping to UK. Just an example, you would know the safe countries to ship. Greece has also be kind to me shipping reps.

German customs is tough. I had similar experience dealing with it, but instead of sending into, I needed to receive from. However he could not send out since the customs required invoice of both piece or so. Finally my German friend still had to send to UK first and then HK.

In my experience letters and small padded envelopes go through without issues. So sending critical parts in them is a good idea.
