How do you store all your watch stuff?

Over time in this hobby, i started to collect many watch parts, tools and gadgets. I am just wondering how you all organise them and keep yourself sane.

I have a little tabletop chest with 3 small drawers that i use as a watchmaking surface. Inside, i have many movements that i hope to use for watchmaking practice, future builds and movements i ruined, for parts. I also have many dials, i tend to want to keep the dials even if i retire them from builds, as they form part of the journey for the build (okay im a hoarder and i hate the oainful process of selling stuff), case parts, movement parts....

Its abit of a jumble and a mess...

I have a three meter long bench, under it I have drawers and storage, one for ETA/Unitas, one for SF240 and a few drawers with parts, not more than 4500 or so...tools on the bench and on a sliding storage under it in the middle...
More storage in boxes here and there...
My 14 square meter shop is full and I haven't seen the floor for a couple of years.

now that's a space i would love to explore...

I have a setup in the garage with the majority of my parts and small tools in one of these as the focal of the work area:

Someday I hope to get my dad's Kennedy version of this, but for $80 this is serviceable.

When it gets cold I move indoors and have various totes I use to organize the tools I need inside, and a little acrylic chest of drawers jewelry box type thingy on my desktop for parts and in-work projects that need a little protection. It's all a work in progress. I think I tinker as much with how to store and organize tools and and arrange workspace as I do with actual watch projects. But then that's part of the joy.

Something like this but bigger. I can't find the reference online but I would say my version is twice the size.

What I like is that is durable and easy to transport. And it can hold a lot of hoarded stuff.

I keep it under the working desk.

This is my solution:

It’s a dentists tool drawer made by Baisch. I build sideboards, coffee tables and small desks from these sometimes and found it to be perfect...

Yoda these are really nice! They have rubber gaskets around the drawers and the inserts can be removed for cleaning... virtually dust-free. Downside is - in three years and after meticulous cleaning, they still smell like dentist. Not too much but enough to remind you every now and then πŸ˜…
