Cali case top vs bottom

I was working on my nw Cali case today. I mixed up the top vs bottom. I know the case is symmetrical but believe there still might be a difference.
Does anyone know how to tell the difference? I attached pics maybe it will help.

Are the lugs angled more towards one side versus another?

No, lugs are straight. I soldered but didn't bend/angle them

What I do know is that when I got mine it was marked „top“ on one side with a sharpie. I couldn’t tell a difference either. You could send a mail to nightwatch - he must know...

From Gordon's site
Type D,E,F,G: These Cases were symmetrical, the top of the case is the same as the bottom although there is still a top and bottom to the case as the machined surface for the Bezel and the Case Back varies slightly. This case is also available on the Vintage Watch Parts website, its know as the Tall Bezel Case or Type D."
I think the machined surface for the case back is thicker (taller). Maybe Phaedros could check his case to confirm.

binbin I just checked with my caliper. The marked area sits 1/10mm higher on the back. Measured from the inside everything is centered. The hole for the stem as well as the little square nubbin to center the movement ring.
From what I can tell it wouldn’t make a difference which way you mounted it. Maybe on the „tall bezel“ case the difference is more significant.
