Been off HF for a bit but still enjoy seeing all your builds.

I’ve been diving back into my Benrus military watches and got a few more. My first was in 2014 that was my first “fancy” non homage watch. I was eyeballs deep into HF then and had yearned for these after seeing the Bill Yao MKII Paradive which I thought was expensive then for $1500.

I spent $800 on the watch and the crystal I had to hand polish with diamond paste different grades until you could see through it. That was a Type II CLASS A. A year and a half later I got a Type I Class A for $1650!

I had chased after the Type II Class B that doesn’t have lume and is meant for nuclear warships and submarines since then and missed several over the years. Finally this month I got one. (Don’t ask how much I paid, oof!!!)

So glad to complete the set.

As a side note, collecting vintage NATO straps has recently become a new side gig. That probably deserves its own thread as well

I love these! I picked up a beat up Type 1 as a birth year watch. Still haven’t worked on it, but you are inspiring me! :)

If you ever give up on working on it please let me buy it from you and get on it myself.

Good luck with your restoration!
