Request for advice - Cortebert 624

Post by Woundup »

Hello all,

I recently acquired a Cort 624 movement. I really wasn't looking for one but just loved the look of the movement and how clean it was - so I bought it assuming I'd use it in a future build utilizing a dial that has the seconds subdial. I currently have a 6152-1 with a Cort 616 and these movements really appeal to me.

This is most likely a stupid question, but when searching for hands, there doesn't seem to be anything available specific to the 624. Do the available options for the other similar Cort movements fit the 624?

Even doing a search here on the Cort 624 yields no results...!?

What's the deal with the 624 gents - is it not a movement that is suitable for Panerai builds? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

So does the slightly larger diameter make the 624 unsuitable for builds?

Measure the inside of your case. Maybe you will need a lathe to make room or you need to thin the movement ring. If the latter is not possible, a Guerilla ring made from brass sheet might be an option. On eBay you will find brass sheet in 0.1 mm steps.

Thank you for the reply hako. I do not yet have a case - I was thinking about waiting until NW reopens and buy a 6152-1 case for this movement - or keep an eye on the FS section for a case that I like.

Sounds as though a little custom machining will be required, though I'm not too concerned about that with so many incredible craftsmen/women working in this hobby.
