So,  if you are in Canada, the UK, Aus and probably anywhere except the US, this has probably already happened to you. If not, it will.

I went on PP to make a purchase (for one of Dan's superb offerings). Now, note that I have never sold anything using it, ever. Transaction does not go through. Notification from Paypal messaging: we require more information. Please submit a copy of your driver's licence or passport and a copy of a bill with no information redacted. What the fuck? Call them Monday morning. "We need this information in accordance with Canadian banking laws and your account will be frozen until we get it."

I say I will call you back and start calling the Canadian government. In short form, there is no such requirement. Call Paypal back. "We don't care. Give us the information or your account will remain frozen."

Ok then. Change my address to 123 Sesame St, change my name by a couple of letters, unlink all my payment methods, change my email address to one from tenminutemail. Go ahead Paypal, keep my account frozen. I can live without ebay and everybody else takes something else.

So sick of this horseshit.  Suck my Sicilian sausage, paypal.

ALMOST everybody else takes something else. If anyone can suggest a way I could get funds to OWC without paypal, let me know. If anyone in Canada wants to take a chance with freezing their paypal (or already resolved it) I would like to ask a favour, specifically can I pay you to get this for me.

its paypal policy globaly.. i've already send them my id and bill from my address to verify years ago.. shitty i know but im using it so very often.

Try using " Wise" formerly Transferwise I have used it to move money from France to USA to Brazil to Ukraine. Also I'm pretty sure at least in USA PayPal is going to start reporting us to the IRS so they can tax any income over $599. It sucks for sure but there will always be another way. welcome to Globalism and the New World Order. We get F**KED so Government C**ts can get rich and destroy us.

I remember that from a while back, I had to take a picture of my drivers license and the monthly invoice showing my address.

Think it's because people have been found hiding money in PayPal accounts. Here in Spain you are only allowed to keep a set amount of money abroad,so people used credit cards PayPal etc rather than foreign banks. They get you in the end

Yeah, THEY really don't like it when folks "hide" money from them. I mean, god forbid they don't get a cut from an old watch you sell at a huge loss anyway.

Right there with you. Wise has no buyer protection that i am aware of but it's fast and cheap. Never knew you were such a delicate soul that you couldn't say naughty words.
