Panerai homage to be recreated in Seiko SKX MODs

Hello HF brothers,
I like Vintage Panerai, but I like SEIKO and its custom as well.
Recently, Namoki released a product that pays homage to Panerai's CG case.

I like it as well, BUT......the CG lever is waaay to long. It could definitely get snagged on something and possibly be open to problems via water etc..

Is the CG lever functional? From the pictures it looks that it’s there for looks only…
