This is absolutely delightful. Roger W Smith is one of THE watchmakers of our time, in case you didn’t know him. He worked with George Daniels, himself a masterful watchmaker and responsible for the coaxial escapement that Omega bought from him.

While I am admiring the craft skills, at the same time I am asking myself if it would not be more economical to melt an appropriate slab of gold and let the mechanical work be done completely by a 5 axis CNC machine
