Before I dove deep into watchmaking I was building Lego with my son like mad. I’m not sure if I’ve spent more on watches and tools by now, but it’s close
I keep adding airplane parts to my motorbike but it still doesn’t fly

Nice
Quick question: Wouldn't you like to use a dial without a sub second to be more precise? Yes, then you have to use a movement with a central second... e.g. Molnija 3608.

The sub-second is the reason for this build. I have an athaya with 3608 which is more „authentic“ and this build was the reason why i wanted to build a pilot thats perfect to me - reliable 6497 with a sub-second b-uhr dial. I‘m not a fan of central-second hand wound-movements (hamilton is an exception) and i‘m clearly no fan of pilot watches with automatic-movements like laco does it today… so i‘m excited for this one

Then you are doing everything right.

By the way, it was not meant in a bad way.
