How to clean a vintage dial?

Do you know how to clean a vintage dial like this?

I once read that a method is put it in water that has just boiled. But I am affaid to spoil it with this procedure.

Why do you want to clean the dial as the patina and old age on it gives the dial lots of character.

totally agree

my first message in this forum appeared after I cleaned off the Rolex print from my vintage pocket watch Rolex Montilier 662

by not knowing, that some prints on ceramic dials are not permanent... but it took one year maybe to find out how to print it back myself.
so who knows may be cleaning your dial will make you more skillful in the future

Same thoughts,
maybe just try with deionized water and a soft coton tip, no excess rubbing.
then gently rubbing with Rodico.
Be carefull with these purple hands, you don't want these to rust...

It's hard to tell from this pic,
but if you see that the dirt is inside or under the clear coating,
you'd better not to touch it.

I you need to strip the top coat, then you'll strip the pad printing ink with it...

Per experience, just rubbing with Rodico can refresh surface oxidation on gilt numbers.
