Yes, that is why I wanted to save them. Mounted, how do you mean, from the back of these frames or in the original cases?Phaedros wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 12:04 pmJust today I was scavenging the classifieds for one of these and for the first time noticed the little illustrations of a storm and the sun on the barometer... I thought to myself how beautifully intricate they were. How are they mounted?Yoda wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 10:28 am I decided to sort some parts and ended up with the Angelus parts from many conversions. Sometimes the owner doesn't want the case and I had two empty Lilliput cases myself. So I removed all screws and useable parts and had this idea.
I popped the crystals, removed the clearcoat from the frames and brushed with a pad, polished a little afterwards and fitted a barometer and a themometer in the two single frames from the Lilliput SF240 travel clocks.
I think that I will fit them either in a nice stand or in a board and hang it on the wall, better than throwing away these old parts.

I meant how you would attach them to a board, do they have screwholes in the back?Yoda wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 12:09 pmYes, that is why I wanted to save them. Oh, I see. I will simply friction fit them and if needed I will use a thin rubber strap to keep them in place.

Re: What are you working on now?
Finally finished restoring my old dental cabinet I posted a few weeks ago. Now I just need to transfer all my parts over.
Before:

Now- decided to paint a graphite gray and finish with black wax for a rustic look. Kinda looks like slate.

Practice working on movements with Molnijas (i lost 7 tiny screws that were used to hold the setting lever spring, 1screw for the plates and 2 yoke springs in the process).
In the process, i managed to fix the keyless of my 3601 with Gordon rolex bridges (broken setting lever spring and some lost screws). It seems to run properly when placed dial side facing down but stops when i place it with dial side facing up.

Does the balance wheel seem uneven when it is running?calvinktlim wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 5:16 pm Practice working on movements with Molnijas (i lost 7 tiny screws that were used to hold the setting lever spring, 1screw for the plates and 2 yoke springs in the process).

When the movement has run down, check if the balance wheel seems stable with a toothpick or similar, gently!
It may simply be a service, it may be a damaged pivot and it may be a jewel.

When I work on extra-springy things, I put a piece of ceran wrap over the movement... no more crouching around thinking „I know I heard it bounce somewhere around here“calvinktlim wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 5:16 pm Practice working on movements with Molnijas (i lost 7 tiny screws that were used to hold the setting lever spring, 1screw for the plates and 2 yoke springs in the process).
