Bend 3646 lug bars?

Post by mountaineer »

Do most people bend the lug bars on a 3646?

I have a nw 3646 with soldered lug bars. I am trying to decide if I should bend bars before adding a strap.

Thanks for the insight.

If you secure them with some blocks of wood you can always bend them afterwards.

It is good to know it is can be reversed. Also, you gave me a good way to bend them. Two pieces of wood in my bench top vice.

Bend?! They must be bent to fit the case.

Apart from that, I am going to form a couple of stainless steel rods to fit a 3646 case and I would hate marks on the rods.

He means bent to follow the contour of the wrist as opposed to being straight like stock Athaya case sets.

I do think it is a personal preference and also due to the wrist size.

I actually bend all the lugs of my 3646 cases which it fits and feel better on my wrist!Image
