I just finished this new build yesterday.
As always, it was made great do to the members of our forum.
@river case
@Kp0y finished dial and hands.
@Jorge strap
@Elias Livadaris buckle
I went for a clean vintage build. The case was so nice when received I left it untouched. Dial & hand ageing give it just enough character. Leather on straps is awesome, with great tail length. Buckle has enough thickness to hold up to size of case. Plus a glimpse of GPF - Mod Dep makes me smile.
This watch will get a lot of wrist time. Case is comfortable. Has a nice profile (not too tall). Blasted case with polished accents are great.

@Yoda It has a 6497 from a pocket watch.
I have an unbranded 8 day movement I purchased from you that might eventually find a home in this watch. I just need a custom movement holder.
The only hesitation is these three piece cases are hard to get stem hole, dial height, etc… to line up.
The stock bezel doesn’t have a lot of room for height. I tired to “double” stack the dial to give it feet. The bezel wouldn’t screw on.
Another future thought, sf240. Not sure if anyone has easily fit one into this case. An “Angelus” branded dial (like you have) would look good on this case.

I used the same case from River with a A6497 from River and a Dial and hands from @Belkin12 . Its great looking but the Crown and tube stripped right away, I then had Esdee change the Crown and tube to Athaya.. Its better but still not perfect.

@Thrasher that is a good looking build. I like the dotted dial.
I don't like to hear to crown/tube stripped right away. Maybe I will have better luck... probably not.

Its like you said the movement, stem, tube , crown dont align perfectly..... Plus I think my Asian 6497 is not great.mountaineer wrote: ↑December 12th, 2021, 1:27 pm @Thrasher that is a good looking build. I like the dotted dial.

Re: Welded lug - new build
I wore my WL with the SF240 movement while in Spain one summer, I miss it dearly and I aim at building a new one with a genuine SF240 movement, in the Esdee/Elias case with a Southy dial and original hands. I know, the impossible dream, but I have the parts and tools, but time and health is a bit of an issue right now.mountaineer wrote: ↑December 12th, 2021, 12:30 pm @Yoda It has a 6497 from a pocket watch.
