I wanted to start a thread for comments on the Ali Express 47mm no crown guards. It was bogging down the other threads.
Below are pics of my parts preliminary put together. Work left to complete:
-shape, sand, polish case; (the case really doesn't need a lot of shaping)
-drill lug holes for solid bars
-fit acrylic crystal
-age hands
I am keeping case back (not as bad as some other stock, like mini fiddy). Also, an old raffles 8mm crown fit threads (thanks to atkin68 for the info). Nice dial by Emilio .
Are there fake solid 26mm lug bars? It would be nice to have spring loaded lug bars, that looked like solid.

Wow that looks already awesome!
Thank you for sharing this project!
The dial is stunning, crown puts the case to the next level (where do i get this?)
What about the spring bars from athaya?

The crown is from rafflestime.com or raffledials.com. It is not as nice as Athaya's 8mm crown (by a lot) but it fit the existing crown tube on the case. Also, I had it unused in my watch supplies. I think it might need an adaptor to fit 6497 stem.
I will look at Athaya's site for spring bars.

Back in the day, we used regular springbars like the ones that come with the stock watch but added a glob of solder on the tips to make them look bigger (gen size)

But yes, add the glob and then shape by hand (sandpaper etc)
